College Basketball Scholarship Alert



Wayland Baptist University Women's Basketball  program (NAIA) is recruiting for the following positions:
 
Class of 2014

Point Guard – 2 openings. We need a pg that is vocal, team leader, handles the ball well, quick and fast, good outside shooter, can take the ball to the hole and finish with contact. Need to be able to guard in the open court, on ball, and help side effectively.

Shooting Guard/Small Forward – 3 openings. Preferably 5’8” or taller. Looking for players that can score. Can score from the outside and by taking the ball to the basket, and be able to finish with contact. Has to be able to handle the ball effectively with both hands. Need to be able to guard in the open court, on ball, and help side effectively.

Power Forward – 1 opening. This player needs to be able to play inside/outside. Needs to be able to handle to ball effectively with both hands. Preferably a 3 point shooter, but we definitely need this player to have an effective mid-range game. Be able to score with their back to the basket as well. Defensively, they need to be able to guard in the open court, on ball, and help side effectively. They need to be able to effectively play defense both inside and out.

Center – 2 openings. We need players that can run the floor hard and effectively. Players with good post moves with their back to the basket. They need to be able to put the ball on the floor as well. Would also like them to be able to handle the ball well. Defensively, they need to be able to guard in the open court, on ball, and help side effectively. They need to be able to effectively play defense both inside and out.

Class of 2015

Power Forward – 1 opening. This player needs to be able to play inside/outside. Needs to be able to handle to ball effectively with both hands. Preferably a 3 point shooter, but we definitely need this player to have an effective mid-range game. Be able to score with their back to the basket as well. Defensively, they need to be able to guard in the open court, on ball, and help side effectively. They need to be able to effectively play defense both inside and out.
