Point Guard (1)- Athletic and quick to fit our style of play. Must be able to pressure the ball defensively. Leadership and directing capabilities are highly needed.

Shooting Guard (2)- Ability to hit a multiple range of shots-including the three. Capability to shoot off the catch, dribble or create her own shot.  Should be able to play some back-up point if needed.  Defensively must be able to pressure the ball.

Forward (3/4)- Solid rebounder and defender. Consistent from 15 ft and in offensively.

Center (5)- Back to the basket player, the ability to step out and shoot a plus.  Rebounding, solid post defender are keys.

LaRoche College Women's Basketball  program is recruiting for the following positions for 2013 & 2014:

Point Guard (1)- Athletic and quick to fit our uptempo style of play.  Must be able to break down defenders and strong finishing with both hands. Leadership and directing capabilities are highly needed. 

Shooting Guard (2)- Athletic and long and can hit a multiple range of shots including from long distance. Should be able to run the floor well and play some back-up point if need be.  Defensively must be able to pressure the ball and cause disruptions.

Small Forward (3/4)- Athletic and aggressive especially on defense.  Would be looked to be able to defend the opposing teams' best guard.  Looking for a utility player that is ready to play multiple positions on offense as well as defense.  Consistent from 15 ft in, from an offensive range standpoint.  Should demonstrate significant skill getting to the basket and finishing plays. Have a passion for rebounding offensively as well as defensively.

Center (5)- Athletic and long and must like running the floor.  Should be able to score with back facing the basket and steady from about 12-15ft in offensive range.  Rebounding, protecting the paint, and getting to the free throw line are key characteristics when it comes to this position for us.

Point Guard – 2 openings. We need a pg that is vocal, team leader, handles the ball well, quick and fast, good outside shooter, can take the ball to the hole and finish with contact. Need to be able to guard in the open court, on ball, and help side effectively.

Shooting Guard/Small Forward – 3 openings. Preferably 5’8” or taller. Looking for players that can score. Can score from the outside and by taking the ball to the basket, and be able to finish with contact. Has to be able to handle the ball effectively with both hands. Need to be able to guard in the open court, on ball, and help side effectively.

Power Forward – 1 opening. This player needs to be able to play inside/outside. Needs to be able to handle to ball effectively with both hands.
